Jim is often in a position to be afraid. Which of Jim's situations did you think was the scariest? How do you think he was able to be brave in that situation?
I thought it was very scary when they were pounding on the door of the inn. It reminded me of a scary movie where you know the bad guy is on the other side of the wall and you don't know who it is, but you know it isn't good. It actually made my heart race. I think Jim knew he had to protect his mother since his father had died and that helped him be brave. And his mother was pretty strong and determined herself so that probably helped him stay calm.
