Assignment: Question 3

Using the Word Portrait list, write about 3 qualities of a hero that you have. Which qualities do you wish you had?

I think I am pretty robust because my Mom says I am adventurous and up for anything. I also don't get sick a lot and like to run around as much as possible. I think I would be good at going on long journeys or quests. I have had to learn to be truthful, but I am now. It is easier to tell the truth than try to keep up a lie. I am told that I am very polite and dependable.

I would like to be more worldly. But I don't mean in the bad way like they talk about in church. I mean I would like to know more about the world, other cultures and travel a lot.

Assignment: Question 2

Jim is often in a position to be afraid. Which of Jim's situations did you think was the scariest? How do you think he was able to be brave in that situation?

I thought it was very scary when they were pounding on the door of the inn. It reminded me of a scary movie where you know the bad guy is on the other side of the wall and you don't know who it is, but you know it isn't good. It actually made my heart race. I think Jim knew he had to protect his mother since his father had died and that helped him be brave. And his mother was pretty strong and determined herself so that probably helped him stay calm.

Assignment: Question 1

What locations have you traveled to? Who went with you? How did you get there? What did you do there and what would you do differently if you went again?

I have traveled by car to Florida, to Gatlinburg and Atlanta, Georgia. When we go to Florida we go to the beach and stay in a house with my cousins and other family. We eat a lot of fish and try to catch fish also. I love to swim so this is my favorite trip. In Gatlinburg, we go stay in a cabin during the winter and mostly walk around and shop and look at trees. I like to watch people as we walk around, but this wasn't my favorite trip. We went to Georgia to go to the aquarium. I loved seeing all the fish and other marine life. It was very crowded though, so I would like to go back when I can spend more time watching the fish swim. And the sharks were AWESOME!!!

On all of these trips, I would rather go without my sister and brother, but my parents have to go because they drive. If I could go to the aquarium again, it would be great if they could accidentally leave me there and I could stay up and watch the fish all night to see what they do when no one is around.
